Bunkanohi

November 3rd is Culture Day.

This day was established as the national holiday Bunka no hi. The meaning is " the love of freedom, peace and the promotion of culture." It was also on the day that the Japanese constitution was proclaimed, so we celebrate the day.
Do you do something on the day?
I don't do special things in Japan on the Bunkanohi, but now, I am in America.

To use this opportunity, I'll teach Kendo, which is Japanese traditional swordplay to American children in this year. I'm looking forward to teaching because it is a good chance to communicate with people who are from other countries. Actually, even if I am Japanese I have a lot of things I don't know about Japanese culture. I think it's also a good time to learn my country's culture well.
I want people to know what is Japanese culture. For example, Kendo needs a lot of concentration. They have to gather when their opponent comes or when they should go. Some Japanese get endurance from Kendo.

I'll try to tell the Japanese culuture to children and I'm glad if they will be interested in Japan.
