The day before Valleyfest, I took part in the Calligraphy Workshop to help JCC's stuff with my friend, Shoko. We met some American women. They were interested in Japanese culture very much. Some of them asked me to write their name in Kanji, so I had to think about substitute character. It was very difficult for me, but I managed to write it well. They were pleased at my work. I was pleased too.
A lady and her husband promised to come to Valleyfest to watch our dance. We really met again. I was so surprised and glad to meet them again. She taught me how to pronounce V well. I thought I need more effort. We talked about our culture, and promise to meet again at JCC. I'm looking forward to meeting again.
We wore Yukata, so maybe we stood out there. We walked in the park, a lot of American whom we didn't know spoke to us. "I love your clothes!" How different American people are from Japanese!
It's pity that I don't have picture of me wearing Yukata, so I put the cake we ate. It was a little oily but so delicious. I really enjoyed my first outdoor volunteering in Spokane.
