Southwest Culture

Pueblo Native Americans have 19 tribes, and they speak some different languages like Tiwa, Tewa, Zuni and so on. For example, people in Acoma, where I visited, speak Zuni. I think it's kind of like Japanese prefecture and dialects, but each of Native Americans and Japanese people have a main language, English and Japanese. However, there are not any clans in Japan although people in Acoma have clans like eagle, corn and so on in the tribe. I was surprised to know that people who are from the same clan are like a family, so they can't marry each other. Japanese people can marry anyone who they love. If people love someone who is from the same clan in Acoma, what will they do? Will they give up him or her? It sounds sad to me. I want to marry the person who I love, and I want everyone to marry the person who they love. I think that people should or even must marry the person who they love, but it's one of the cultures of Native Americans.

However, in other parts of America, mostly people don't have any clans as Japanese people don't have. Even in the same "America", there are some different cultures although it seems kind of like clan that a Christian has to marry another Christian. Anyway, how interesting it is!

I learned a lot of new things on this Southwest trip. I noticed that there are many different cultures, languages and people in the world. This finding makes my view wider and myself more mature.
